Lunch and a movie. A fun afternoon for everyone! Even better when there is less stress and more fun. Studio Movie Grill hosts Special Needs Screenings for families with children with special needs. Children and their siblings get in free while tickets for adults are just $6. The lights stay up and the volume on the movie is lowered. Children are free to talk, move around, or even dance in the aisles! The next one is July 26th @ 11am!
This is another movie event that is not just for children or for just those with disabilities, but for everyone. Watch award winning films that are not shown at your local cinema that feature people with disabilities and/or are made by people with disabilities. ReelAbilities is a leading game changer in disability awareness and is achieving this by telling and sharing the stories of the disability community for a better, more inclusive world. Each film is followed by an event, a Q&A, or a panel to really bring home the message of the film.
Now in seven cities across the nation, each Abilities Expo offers three days of access to the latest technologies and resources for ALL disabilities, informative workshops on issues that most resonate with the Community and fun activities like adaptive sports, dance, assistive animal demos and more.
Just because someone is disabled, doesn’t mean that they can’t be an amazing athlete. For those interested in getting outside, Disabled Sports USA is a national association with chapters all over the country from Florida, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Vermont all the way to Utah, California, Washington, and Alaska – this organization spans almost all 50 states. Events are held monthly and include a wide range of activities from rock climbing and cycling to swimming and archery. With Disabled Sports, your family can finally get our there and play.
